PRIORITIES:
Love God. Love People.
LOVE
GOD by...
WELCOMING Him
- Every believer needs daily submission to the
Holy Spirit. By welcoming Him into every aspect
of life, we can then be filled and empowered
by the Spirit, display the fruit of the Spirit,
and attain the gifts of the Spirit.
HONORING His
Word - To love God is to obey His commandments
(John 17 ). But to know His commandments, we
must be reading and studying His inspired Word,
written and spoken.
PRAYING to Him
- We were created by God to have relationship
with Him. He longs to talk to us and reveal
more of who He is. Through talking and listening
to God, we will know more of Him who loves us
unconditionally.
WORSHIPING Him
- The Bible tells us to praise the Lord, minister
to the Lord, bless the Lord, clap, shout, sing
a new song, and make him known among the nations...worship.
Personal worship of the Lord draws us into His
presence.
GIVING to Him
- We believe every believer will be engaged
in planned, responsible use of their time, talents,
skills, and finances to further the work of
the God's Kingdom in the local church.
SERVING Him
- He has chosen us to accomplish His Great Commission
here on earth. As we "go and make disciples",
remember we are His tools as He work in and
through us. We are here to glorify and serve
Him, not ourselves.
LIVING for Him
- We must reflect God in our homes, families,
work, hobbies, interests, etc. We are to be
His light in the darkness and the salt of this
earth.
LOVE PEOPLE
by...
WELCOMING Each
Other - To love others, we need to show it.
Love is an action, and it can be seen in a smile,
a kind word, a shared prayer, a forgiving heart,
and hospitable spirit. Be the experience of
God's love that someone needs.
HONORING People
- We are to encourage, uplift, and exhort. The
body of Christ must not be identified by criticism,
negativity, or judgementalism. We are to "love
our neighbor", and the "neighbor"
includes all.
PRAYING for
All - We believe God hears and answers our prayers.
We believe we are called to "stand in the
gap" for those who need help...in the church
and in the world. Even prayer for our enemies
is Jesus' command.
WORSHIPING Together
- The Bible tells us where "two or three"
come together in the name of Jesus, He will
be there with them. It also tells us to not
forsake the assembling of ourselves. Worshiping
together creates unity and power.
GIVING Our Gifts
- We have all been given gifts by God the Father,
Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We must
share the gifts given to us with others by delivering
the gifts to those in need.
SERVING the
Church - Our love for others will be seen by
how we serve them. Jesus himself said he did
not come to be served, but to serve. We serve
people practically with clothing, food, and
shelter.
LIVING out Our
Faith - Making disciples requires us being out
in the world sharing what Christ has done through
our actions, words, and lives. The world needs
us to be Christ to them.
